CANTOR EMERITA GERI ZELLER

She served on the Board of Directors of the Pascack Valley Counseling Service and was a former Vice President of the Women Cantor's Network, She was a life member of the Pascack Valley Chapter of Jewish Women International, a life member of Hadassah and the National Council of Jewish Women.

 

She was a loving wife to Hans and the proud mother of Michael, Marc and daughters-in-law Ashley and Traci.  She was a proud Bubbe of Jack and Jillian and twins Henry and Charlie.

 

Cantor Geri retired on July 1, 2005 after serving our congregation for 18 years.    Shortly thereafter, she was given the title Cantor Emerita by the Board of Trustees.

May her soul be bound up in the bond of eternal life.

Cantor Emerita Geri Zeller died peacefully and unexpectedly, while on a South Pacific cruise on February 4, 2020.  The congregation deeply mourns the loss of this charismatic leader of our congregation
for so many years.

Cantor Geri Zeller came to Beth Am Temple in 1987. She had a number of hazzanim in her family during her Orthodox upbringing and it was a delightful change of events when women were finally allowed on the bima. Cantor Zeller attended Emerson College and received her Masters in Spiritual Counseling from the University of New York.
